2009 Annual Meeting
The 2009 Annual General Meeting of the Synod was held in Cromwell on the 17th and 18th of April. Friday night

saw the opening of the meeting with the retiring Moderator,
Mr. Fergus Sime's address to the commissioners. He then inducted the new Moderator, Mrs. Christine Hansen of Cromwell, with prayer. Christine was then given the Moderator's brief case.The evening concluded with dinner provided by the Cromwell parish.
Saturday was business day with the presentation of reports from the funding committees and presentations from the Rev Cameron Sinclair who spoke of the work being done at 'Blue Lagoon' a cafe church in North East Valley Dunedin.
The Mission Advisor spoke on Death of a Congregation. The Youth Co-ordinator outlined her plans for this new

position in the Synod region. The PCANZ's National Mission Enabler, the Rev John Daniel also spoke about the need to pursue life. The final speaker of the day was the Rev. Geoff Ellery of Wakatipu parish who had just
completed research for the Synod on churches in New Zealand in tourist and rapidly developing areas. The published report was available at the meeting.
The meeting concluded with a service of Communion before commissioners headed home.

Moderator Designate

There were two names before the Synod this year. After a secret ballot the Rev. Tau BenUnu was elected to be the Moderator from the Annual meeting of 2010. The present Moderator congratulated him and called for the Synod to pray for Tau. Tau then addressed the Synod meeting.
